2024 FIM World Endurance Championship
“Coca-Cola” Suzuka 8 Hours Road Race Report

 

Under the blue sky and severe heat on July 21, Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race started. The race started with a Le Mans style at 11:30 am, riders rushing to their machines.
Yuki Kunii of SDG Team HARC-PRO.Honda, who started from 6th on the grid, fought for the top group in the early stages and was in 3rd place. After that, although he dropped to 4th place, he caught up with the top group and continued to put in laps.
Naomichi Uramoto was also riding at a good pace to keep him in the top group, but when Mario Aji started his first stint, his pace did not increase. Due to pain in his shoulder from Friday's fall, he had to make a sudden pit stop earlier than planned and replaced Kunii.
After that, Kunii and Uramoto took turns riding, but the intense heat sapping the riders' stamina and there was no safety car, so they continued to ride at full speed.
Towards the end of the race, both riders were exhausted and unable to pick up the pace, but in the end, Uramoto managed to carry his machine to the finish line and took the checkered flag in 9th place.

 

As for the teams supported by SDG, DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA came in 4th place. Team TARO PLUSONE with SDG placed 13th. SHINSYUREN With TOTEC placed 24th.
